Everyone likes
to work in a BIG MNC, and are always encouraged and motivated to grab an offer
from a MNC’s, of course anyone who is looking for a career in Job / as a salaried
person will always be dreaming to be working in a BIG MNC.
How if such
dream comes true and you get in to such a desired job but later realize that
it’s working culture matches of that like of one nearby Patel’s Grocery Shop
and employs are even required to ask for all small things for which they were
free to take decision in previous organization.
Recently one of
my friend came to my place for dinner, while sharing casual talks of career and
job he shared some incidents occurred with him with his senior management which
make me write this article.
He is working
with this MNC for almost now 2 years and when we use to talk at earlier days he
was very excited with the job and the role he was handling.
However, in his
recent meeting with me he was not only discouraged but his overall interest in
his work was lost, he further explained that this similar situation with most
of his coluges
He went on to
explain how the things changed few months back when a senior management
personal joined the organization.
The new senior
was not his reporting officer but being in the senior position he started
interfering in every activity of all the department. Earlier his interference
was taken as input but slowly this interference grown in level that for every
small thing they need to have his permission.
This was felt
to other senior managers but were not able to do much.
The said the
treatment of employees was becoming equivalent to those who were working in a
Baniya Grocery shop like how a boy in baniya shop must show MRP of product to
shop owner before he hands over the same to customer.
It was
understood that every employee has his specific free space of work where they
know what and how to interact with client /any other internal or external
matter related to company.
But this
interference had made everyone think again with continuing their career with
the MNC and in Last 2 years he explained 25% of employees left for this reason
and many are further planning.
I consoled him
and said not to take the decision in haphazard manner.
I concluded
that because you have given the right to interfere someone in your work area
they are now controlling everything you do.
Management at
more senior level must take note of such activities and have make line between
operations of various department.
Every company
works for common goal of making profit, internal connectivity and communication
is key to this however this communication must have lines drawn as every
individual has his best of performance when given a free hand.
